CJ Hopkins' plays and stage-texts have been presented in the U.S. and U.K. by theater companies including Amaryllis Theatre Company, Solen Productions, Monkey Wrench Theater, The Present Company, Tiny Mythic/HERE, Soho Think Tank, Irondale Ensemble Project, Pulse Ensemble Theatre, One Dream Theatre and PANDA.NET, musicians and musical groups such as The Walter Thompson Orchestra and Lol Coxhill, and have been commissioned for theater and alternative media festivals including Ice Factory 97 at the Ohio Theatre, HERE's CultureMart, The New York International Fringe Festival and Transcinema 2001. He has received fellowships from Mabou Mines Resident Artist Program/Jerome Foundation and The Drama League of New York, and individual artist's grants from The Puffin Foundation and the Harburg Foundation. Hopkins' Horse Country is available in the anthology, Plays and Playwrights for the New Millennium (The New York Theatre Experience, Inc.). Horse Countrywas developed under the Resident Artists Program of Mabou Mines/Suite in 1995 by Julia Lee Barclay and C.J. Hopkins using funds provided by the Jerome Foundation, Inc.
